Canela is the golden fruit of a historical litter for Ponta da Pinta: my first intervariety outcross, of which only short-haired offspring were born. Beautiful, with great conformation and temperament, amazingly agile, she was my first Estrelas of this variety and produced high quality offspring, thus playing an important role in my programme for bettering the breed. On her premiere at dog shows, she was Best Baby in Show. She went on to win several Best of Breed- and when 11 months old, on her first Monográfica (breed club championship show), she was Best of Variety and Reserve Best in Show. Then at 17 months of age, she became Champion of Portugal and, in July 2017, the first short-hair Estrela Mountain Dog to win the title Grand Champion of Portugal.
